Shetland & Orkney Isles

So, what awaits you in Orkney and Shetland? For
starters, each has a distinctive culture, natural
wonders and a number of fascinating geological
sites. Lying off Scotland's north coast, surrounded by
crystal-clear waters, these two archipelagos are
rather special places indeed. Travelling north into
Scotland on our outward journey, to our first
overnight hotel in Pitlochry. Our second day takes us
via Inverness and into the North of Scotland to
Dormoch for a further overnight stay. Travelling
onward to Scrabster, where we join our first ferry, the
MV Hamnavoe, for a 90 minute sailing, passing
Britain’s highest vertical cliffs and the Old Man of
Hoy. Once we arrive at Stromness, we meet our local
guide for a tour on our coach of the World Heritage
sites of Skara Brae, Stones of Stenness, Ring of
Brodgar, Skaill House, Churchill Barriers, Italian
Chapel & Scapa Flow. We enjoy a three course
evening meal in a local restaurant, before departing
on our ferry from Kirkwall. After arriving the following
morning in Lerwick, we join our local guide for a tour
of The Shetland Isle, visiting the outstanding site of
Jarlshof in the south and Scalloway Castle and
Museum, returning to our ferry for our evening meal
and overnight sailing to Aberdeen. Once back on dry
land, we make our way to the Scottish Borders to our
final overnight hotel.

is steps from Killiecrankie and features rooms with
views over the city. Since 1897 the venue has been
offering accommodation in a 4-story building with a
historic architecture and furnishings. All of the
guestrooms are en suite and offer the usual
refinements including TV, WiFi, telephone &
refreshment facilities. Our stay is on a half board
basis for one night. A lift serves all floors.

grounds in a truly historic corner of the Scottish
Highlands, overlooking the esteemed Royal Dornoch
Golf Course and bordered by pristine beaches and
forestry walks. All of the guestrooms are en suite
and offer the usual refinements including TV, WiFi,
telephone & refreshment facilities. Our stay is on a
half board basis for one night.

North Link Ferries North Link Ferries, all
accommodation on board NorthLink Ferries ships
have been built with your comfort in mind. Cabins
are twin low berth, modern, clean and fully equipped
with en-suite washbasin, toilet and shower facilities.
All cabins are now equipped with an individual
temperature control and tea & coffee-making
facilities. We have one night half board and one night
bed & breakfast accommodation plus an evening
meal served in a local restaurant on Orkney.
