Hebridean Odyssey

Prices from...

£800.00

A fascinating tour with delightful sailings between the islands. Sample island lifestyles where little has changed for generations. Take in the unique culture, the wildlife & historical sites spanning 5000 years. We head into the boarders, south of Glasgow, for our first overnight stay, then continue through the wonderful scenery of the Highlands and onto the Isle of Skye for our second nights’ accommodation. From here we catch the sailing to North Uist, passing tiny lochs and impressive beaches, checking in to the Dark Island Hotel for the night. Sailing onto the largest of the Hebridean Islands – Harris, a rugged landscape of deep-sea lochs and mountains, we travel along the spine of the island to the capital Stornoway, our base for two nights. We have a full day tour of Lewis, with an experienced island guide, including the impressive 5000-year-old standing stones of Callanish, ancient thatched “Blackhouses”, typical of crafting settlements, imposing Carloway Broch, a fortified tower & a visit to a tweed Mill, explaining the history of the famous Harris Tweed. We catch the ferry to Ullapool, followed by a glorious drive across the sweep of the Highlands to Inverness and through picturesque Speyside into Perthshire for our final night.
